Concerning Your Conscience TUC #23 ()

Bo Grace, October 1, 2017
Part of the The Unstoppable Church series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

As we continue our study through the book of Acts, we find Paul in trouble – again. It seems as though he cannot stay away from it. This time he saw it coming. His advisors told him not to go to Jerusalem because he would face great harm. But Paul didn’t heed the advice of his friends because God said to go, and following God was much more important than following his friends.
Paul was on trial before the Sanhedrin, a Jewish Council, of which he had formally been a member. Two groups made up the Sanhedrin – The Sadducees, and the Pharisees. Paul had been a faithful Pharisee until he met Jesus on the Damascus Road – and everything changed. Remember the story about the little girl and the cross? “What Jesus touches, He changes!”
Although Paul was in big trouble and realized he could be facing death, he was ready. He wasn’t fretful. He wasn’t wringing his hands, because he realized he was in the hands of God.
