Dealing With Doctrines TUC #15 (Acts 15:1-41)

Bo Grace, July 23, 2017
Part of the The Unstoppable Church series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

When you visit the lands of the Bible, or think about them, you experience God in a unique way. You find yourself identifying with the known and unknown heroes of faith who faced great persecution. You find yourself reflecting on the leadership of so many who laid the foundation upon which we stand today. You think about problems and challenges they had from outside the church. We seldom think of the critical, potential church splitting issues they dealt with within the church.
History tells the story of how in too many cases, the church was its own greatest enemy. It need not be that way. It should not be that way! Regardless of what happens inside or outside the church – it is UNSTOPPABLE because the church belongs to God who has said that the “gates of hell will not prevail” against His church.
As we come to the 15th chapter of Acts we see a concern that could have escalated into great conflict in the church. It concerned a very important thing: DOCTRINE. And… it concerns what is the most important DOCTRINE of the church.
